Keeping The Bacteria Away From Kitchen Sponge While Performing Kitchen Cleaning
You will find several harmful bacteria and germs lurking around the corners of your house. They are also waiting for an opportunity on different surfaces of an average kitchen. Therefore it is significant that you wash your hands before you touch any food articles. Not only that, you need to sponge and sanitize these surfaces regularly. Let’s check out the Dos and Don’ts of dishwater and sponge kitchen cleaning.
Dos
- Use microwave for damp sponges: While you are performing kitchen cleaning all it takes is a minute for the sponge within your microwave to banish all those harmful bacteria and bugs. You may also use a straightforward drying cycle within your dishwasher for killing all these molds, yeasts, and germs.
- Keep replacing your sponge regularly: In case you forget to sanitize your kitchen cleaning sponge regularly just replace it. Keep in mind that it doesn’t take a lot of time for different bacteria to build within these sponges. Typically they will start appearing within a few days.
- Remove all those smelly sponges during home cleaning: If you can detect a feisty and bad odor it is a definite sign that your kitchen sponge is not clean. You may zap it inside your microwave, place it within your dishwasher while being on a dry cycle or better still replace it.
- Maintain your kitchen sponge in a dry condition: You need to completely wring out your sponge or dishcloth after its use for avoiding it from getting damp between the uses because it encourages the growth of bacteria. Leave out the sponge to get dry off but make sure that you are not leaving it in an enclosed space such as a bucket or a cabinet.
Don’ts
- Do not wipe out those meat juices by using a sponge: It is one of the fastest ways of raising the chances of foodborne and harmful pathogens spreading over your sponge. Therefore use paper towels instead or use disinfectant for absorbing all your spillage.
- Do not use your sponge over kitchen countertops: Unless your kitchen sponge is hygienically cleaned by using one of the methods noted above or it is fresh out of its wrapper, never use it for wiping the surfaces within your kitchen. In all probability, you will end up spreading bacteria all over the kitchen.
Cleaning your sponge
Soak your sponge in a mixture of one gallon of water and 3/4th cup of bleach for five minutes. It is an easy and surefire method for destroying all the bacteria from your sponge. Bleach is renowned for its bacteria-destroying capabilities and all experts agree that it is the most effective way of keeping your sponges clean. You can also use vinegar instead of bleach if you don’t like its smell. Soak for the same amount of time with vinegar.
Although these ways are effective, keep in mind that none of your kitchen sponges are going to last forever. You will need to replace them at some point in time. Otherwise, you can just leave this home cleaning to professionals such as European Maids in Clearwater & Pinellas County, FL area. They can bring their tools, eliminating all the requirements.

Cleaning Kitchen Sink During Kitchen Cleaning
Providing your kitchen sink a deep clean should always be a part of your regular kitchen cleaning routine. There is a tendency to think that as there is a lot of soap and water running through a kitchen sink daily, it is a relatively clean place. However, that is not the case in reality. Splashing and rinsing by using dish soap that takes place each day don’t have anything to do with proper sink cleaning. Here are some tips for cleaning the kitchen sink in the right manner.
1. Provide thorough rinse to the sink
Before you begin cleaning the kitchen sink you may wish to wash off all the dishes and provide a thorough rinse to the sink. All the liquid, foods, and debris lying in the sink must be rinsed away before you begin cleaning the kitchen sink. After rinsing, clear the drains also. In reality, it is a good practice to perform daily, even when you do not have the time for complete kitchen cleaning. While taking into consideration stainless steel sinks, remember that salt and acids within food may damage the finishing of the sink. For other kinds of kitchen sinks, it makes cleaning the stains harder. Rinsing the sink must be a daily chore before night.
2. Sprinkling baking soda in the sink and scrub
After rinsing the sink of debris and food articles you need to sprinkle baking soda in it. Cover the entire sink and do not hold back. Canisters of baking soda are available that can be sprinkled. You may even use a mason jar with holes drilled on the top. If you take the mason jar option, you can even add a few drops of essential oils to soda. This will give a great smell to the entire kitchen. After you have the baking soda covering the whole sink, you should start scrubbing. Use a bit of dish soap on the sponge for simpler cleaning. Although baking soda is a bit abrasive, it is not bad enough to scratch the stainless steel kitchen sink surfaces not even other kinds of surfaces. Scrub top to bottom to ensure that you are scrubbing towards the drain. The best method for cleaning a sink is by using circular motions for scrubbing away the whole sink.
3. Sanitization
After you have finished scrubbing the sink surfaces clean, you should sanitize the surface. Provide a good rinse to the freshly scrubbed kitchen sink to ensure that all the things you have cleaned are getting washed away to the drain. Now, soak the paper towels with white vinegar and utilize them for lining the sink. Cover the whole sink and let the vinegar and towels sit on it for 20 minutes. Keep in mind that vinegar is a natural sanitizer and it can remove hard water stains.
4. Cleaning faucets
After the basin of the sink is clean and sanitized, remember to clean a handle and a faucet. Sink faucets and handles may be cleaned by using a mild soapy solution. You can use a surface cleaner or dish soap with a sponge and it will do trick for you. When you are finished cleaning the faucets you may apply a vinegar-soaked cloth for wiping down and sanitizing commonly handled surfaces. After this, remember to deodorize a drain and disposal.
Well, all that is remaining now is to take a step back and admire the handy work you have done during kitchen cleaning. However, sometimes things are out of hand and kitchen cleaning can turn out to be trickier than you would have envisaged. If you live Clearwater, FL area you can get in touch with European Maids to ensure that the kitchen sink and the entire process of kitchen cleaning get the right treatment.

Removing Chocolate And Candy Stains
For parents living with their little ones, things are always similar to being in the season of sticky messes and sugar highs. It is more like a way of life for them. Candies, chocolates, sticky objects with food coloring containing sugary coating are notorious for settling onto carpets, clothing, and furniture fibers and the worst part is that they stay put. But, there is no need to be worried about cleaning these stains anymore. You can get professionals that are trained in tricks for cleaning stubborn stains.
Chocolate
Similar to most of the other stains you need to act quickly when you observe chocolate stains on your clothing, upholstery, or carpet. You may begin the cleaning by scraping off the excess or scraping chocolate by using a spoon or a knife. The vacuum hose may also be tried especially while removing stains from furniture and carpet. Doing this initially prevents the spreading of the stains or grinding out the chocolate further to fibers. From this onward your actions will depend on the item to be cleaned.
Clothing: After scraping off the extra chocolate you can turn the clothing items inside out and rinse away the stains by using cold water from the other side of the garments. This will help in pushing the chocolate out of the fibers. You may now spot-treat the stains by using stain removers, laundry detergents, or liquid dish soaps. Work into the lather gently. After this, soak the item in cold water for 30 minutes at least. Inspect the item for stains, and if there are more stains you can lather them and soak them again. After the stain is gone launder the item as usual. You can also air-dry the clothing item to make sure that the stain is gone.
Carpets and upholstery: After scraping away the loose chocolate, use 2 cups of lukewarm water with 1 tablespoon of liquid dish soap. You may use a soft cloth or a soft-bristle brush to gently apply the mixture to the stains. Dab the stained area rather than rubbing it for preventing the chocolate staining. Blot the stains by using a dry cloth or paper towels. Keep on applying the soapy water and then blotting it dry by using cloth until the stains are no longer visible.
Hard candies and lollipops
In many cases, the half-consumed hard candies and peppermints, manage to find their ways to the ground. This may happen in the case of the car flooring or the living room carpets. The real problem while cleaning this sticky mess is that it can become a worse problem if someone steps onto it unknowingly and grinds the material into the fiber. Follow this procedure for removing hard candies.
Spray the plain water on the candy stain for dissolving the bonded sugar. If you do not have a spray bottle you may dab the candy by using a wet cloth. Use a butter knife or a spoon for scraping off the candy. It might take some time for the water to dissolve the sugar from the stain. Now, apply the stain remover for eliminating the leftover candy dyes or residues. You can use enzyme cleaners, store-purchased carpet cleaners, or distilled white vinegar if you do not have any stain removers.
Now, blot the stained area by using a dry and clean cloth for lifting the stain. After the stain has been removed, wash away the carpet cleaner by dabbing the stained area with a damp and clean cloth. Any remaining excess moisture can also be removed by blotting the area again by using a dry cloth. Then allow this cleaned area to dry.
If you are overwhelmed with household cleaning tasks do not worry about it. If you reside in the Clearwater, FL area you may contact the professionals available at European Maids Cleaning for an appointment to inspect the dirty area. These professional home cleaning services will give you back the free time that can be enjoyed elsewhere.

Therapeutic Benefits Of Home Cleaning
Home cleaning is necessary for a well-organized and clean house because it brings therapeutic benefits together with internal stability to the home. Although it is unlikely that cleaning the house and organizing it better will even be envisaged as a way of treating mental issues, there are some recent researches conducted in the area that indicate, a clean and organized home brings about excellent psychological advantages. If you can perform home cleaning by removal of dust, additional clutter, dirt, and debris from the house you will experience not only the physical benefits but psychological benefits as well.
Organization
Humans tend to identify with their surroundings strongly and if the interiors of the house are cluttered with misplaced items, unwashed dishes, and garbage, they are likely to affect the way we envisage ourselves as well. Another study published some time ago in 2013 has confirmed that having either order or disorder can have a measurable effect on our choices, behavior, and preferences.
According to other research, people living in clean and orderly houses are more likely to select healthy food, donate to charities, and opt for alternatives that are classical or conventional. In stark contrast people living in disordered rooms experienced a boost in unconventional thinking and creativity however, they did not opt for conscientious and healthy alternatives for themselves.
There was another study published in a bulletin that stated, people who describe their house environment positively with words such as restful and restorative were less likely to be stressed and exhausted than compared to the people that described their homes to be cluttered. Women are more likely to be impacted by stressful homes due to the rise in depression throughout the day and the increased level of cortisol.
Psychology of home cleaning
Although everyone would prefer to have lesser chaos in their living environment, keep in mind that home cleaning is a mandatory portion of being a house owner and it is daily upkeep. Why is home cleaning so important for people’s psyches? Although there are various explanations given for this question, new research indicates that having a clutter-free home encourages people to seek new experiences and also go out more often. This can aid in the management of negative feelings. People living inside a clean house are more likely to get involved in a greater level of physical activity. Clean interiors are one of the main reasons for physical activity although other factors are worth considering.
Living in these clean surroundings leads to a boost in concentration. The reason behind this is that the brain perceives debris and clutter as a form of distraction in an attempt to coax you to correct the situation. It is another consideration whether you are realizing it or not but, your subconscious uses vital mental resources for processing the clutter inside the house and lack of a good clean environment. This takes up considerable bandwidth required for other work.
Therapeutic benefits of home cleaning
Here are the top therapeutic benefits of home cleaning.
- Less stress.
- Greater activity.
- More productivity.

Home Cleaning For COVID-19
There are many queries in the minds of people at the moment such as can you get a COVID-19 infection from food? Normal household tasks have turned into anxious and uncertain times as families around the world are grappling to get the basics needed right and keep themselves and their loved ones safe during the pandemic. Home cleaning has become a significant chore as you need to clean and disinfect the high-touch surfaces in the house regularly for lowering the risk of catching an infection.
1. Clean and disinfect the high-touch surfaces: All homes are different although the high-touch surfaces are the same in most cases. They include tables, door handles, kitchen and bathroom surfaces, handrails, toilets, taps, mobile phones, light switches, tablets, computers, remote controls, keyboards, toys, and game controllers. You need to clean the dirty surfaces by using detergent and water before you go for disinfection. This is the best way to make sure that you are destroying the COVID-19 virus present in the home. Soap and water kill viruses similar to bleach, hydrogen peroxide, and isopropyl alcohol.
2. Trust the advice of reputed sources: The only way of fending off the virus is by understanding the facts about it. If you start reading about coronavirus from unreliable sources it may cause panic and a sense of fear. It doesn’t help anyone. You need to trust reputed resources such as the World Health Organization (WHO), Red Cross, Center for Disease Control (CDC), and National Center for Disease Control (NCDC). These sources can be trusted to provide up-to-date and proven info about the spread of this virus inside your house.
3. Be vigilant at all times: Although the coronavirus is here to stay for the foreseeable future, you also need to keep it in mind that there are other viruses around that have been around for several years. So, although you should not panic, you need to make sure that you don’t let the guard down and take all preventive measures each day to restrict the spread of the virus.
4. Use warm/hot water wherever possible: Try to use warm and hot water wherever possible especially in places such as cleaning laundry. This fact is mentioned in the makers’ instructions as well. Ensure that the clothes are completely dry after the cleaning before you use them. People easily forget how many times they touch electronic instruments. These devices can be the host for several bacteria or viruses. Therefore it is significant that they are cleaned regularly.
5. Be additionally careful if someone in the household is sick: It is a good idea to clean and change the hand towels in any event. But, it becomes additionally significant if anyone in the household is sick. You can clean the bathroom and kitchen surfaces regularly anyway but if someone is sick ensure that this is done more often.
Cleaning and disinfecting products
If you find any surface to be dirty during home cleaning use detergent or soap with water for cleaning it. After this, use any disinfectant product that contains alcohol (containing around 70%) on the surface or you can use bleach as well. For the COVID-19 virus vinegar and other similar natural products are not useful. In a lot of places, it is tough to find wipes and disinfecting sprays. Use soap and water in such cases. You can use household diluted bleach solutions for some surfaces as well.
Remember COVID-19 is still rampant and is a real threat to the lives of the vulnerable so maintain good hygiene practices in the house. Do not neglect your home cleaning duties. However, if you are struggling to perform the home cleaning tasks by yourself due to a busy work schedule you can get the services of professionals such as European Maids in the Clearwater, FL area.

Organizing The Freezer Cleanouts
Although most people who are good at home cleaning are also quite capable of fridge cleanouts, it is easy to forget about the freezer. Although just the thought of freezer cleanout may bring a groan to many faces, it is not as difficult as it used to be. Due to the quantity of frost build-up, the freezer cleaning had developed a bad reputation. However, in modern refrigerators, you will not encounter this issue which means that you can finish cleaning the freezer within 30 minutes.
What you will need
Keep in mind that these instructions are for cleaning the freezer of your refrigerator. In case you have a deep freezer you will have to talk to the manufacturer or read instructions on the manual for cleaning. For cleaning the freezer you will need,
- Ice
- A large cooler
- Distilled white vinegar
- A spray bottle
- An old toothbrush
- Hot water
- Microfiber cloths
Instructions
1. Take out all the food items from the freezer and put them in the cooler with ice. Remember to check the expiry dates of various food items in the process. Remove all the food items that are past the expiry date.
2. Unplug the refrigerator for safety. Do not worry about the food items as they will stay cold for 4 hours without power inside the refrigerator according to the FDA. However, ensure that people are not moving in and out of the fridge while you are working.
3. Combine equal portions of hot water and vinegar inside the spray bottle. This will be the cleaning solution for the freezer.
4. Spray the mixture generously in the freezer and wipe away the solution by using the dry microfiber cloth. You may repeat the step a few times for getting a clean freezer.
5. If there are stubborn patches you can use the toothbrush with hot water to scrub clean the area and wipe away the residue by using the microfiber cloth.
6. Dry the freezer inside by using the microfiber cloth ensuring that there is no liquid lying behind.
7. Wash out the drawers of the freezer, ice trays, and bins.
8. Plug back the freezer and also replace the food items you removed earlier. In case the ice from the cooler has begun to melt, wipe away the liquid from the food items and return them to the freezer.
One of the biggest annoyance several people feel when they open the freezer is not finding what they are looking for to eat. Due to this, it is a good idea to properly organize the food items inside the freezer while replacing them after cleaning by using a system that works out for you.

Wet Cleaning In The House With A Small Child
Cleanliness is the key to health. And therefore, armed with jars, bottles and various brushes, we proceed to clean the apartment. Wet cleaning in the house will save households, and especially babies, of the harmful effects of the smallest particles contained in the air that enter the human body during inspiration.
It is difficult to overestimate wet cleaning, since it is clear to any mom that the child should breathe clean fresh air, and not dust. Just walking a broom in the corners, you will not achieve cleanliness in the apartment. And we must not forget that an excessive amount of dust in the room can lead to dangerous pulmonary and cardiovascular diseases, to the development of asthma or allergies.
In an apartment where a very small infant grows, it is necessary to carry out a full wet cleaning of the room at least twice a week. In addition, every day you need to wipe all surfaces in the apartment with a damp cloth to remove accumulated dust. When the baby turns one year old, it will be possible to reduce the number of wet cleanings to 4-5 per month.
Preparing for Wet Cleaning
So that cleaning the apartment does not take you much time, you need to properly prepare for it. For wet house cleaning you will need different sizes of microfiber cloths, cleaning products, a mop, a washing vacuum cleaner, a large bucket for mopping the floor, a small basin for washing various surfaces (shelves, window sills, tables). When cleaning the room, immediately bring everything you need. Running back and forth for every little thing means spending extra time and effort.
Top to Bottom, Left to Right
Wet cleaning should be carried out starting from the upper shelves, mezzanines and cabinets, gradually moving down. If you plan to wash windows – start with them. Then wipe the windowsill and radiator, all the shelves, cabinets, drawers, mirrors, shades. Wash floors last.
Do not save on the purchase of good napkins and brooms for dust removal, they will do the job well and will serve you for more than one month. Computer stores sell pretty expensive, but wear-resistant wipes to wipe the monitor. They are the best suited for washing mirrors and windows. You will be pleasantly surprised by the result!
And do not forget to rinse the rag more often, removing dust.
Wet Vacuum Cleaner
A washing vacuum cleaner will save you from having to carry water buckets and rub the floor with a rag. Modern washing vacuum cleaners allow you to clean almost any surface in the house from dust and dirt: laminate flooring, natural wood floors, tile, carpet, woolen carpets, furniture. A variety of brushes included in the kit will allow you to penetrate the most inaccessible corners of the apartment. Brushes are made taking into account features of various surfaces. Using a washing vacuum cleaner reduces the wet cleaning time of the house by two, or even three times.
If you have not yet acquired a washing vacuum cleaner, special cleaners and an ordinary, well-absorbing sponge will help remove dust and dirt from furniture upholstery and carpets. Follow the instructions on the package exactly and everything will work out. True, such a wet cleaning of woven surfaces will take quite a lot of time and effort.
An important point: if the house is not warm enough, do not venture to wet the carpet or furniture. Dampness, which can be formed due to the fact that the carpet dries for too long, is much more dangerous than dust. In the folds of furniture or deep in the pile of the carpet, mold can form, which is dangerous for the baby! Mold releases toxins into the atmosphere, which literally poison the human body, causing headaches, nausea and dizziness. Furniture and carpets should be completely dry during the day after wet cleaning.
Wet house cleaning is a time-consuming task even for an experienced housewife. And when a baby grows up in a family, it is all the more difficult to devote a proper amount of time and energy to this important part of life. Try to attract household members to the cleaning, because a husband or an older child may well wipe the dust.
If you are unlimited in funds, you can use the services of professionals by ordering through the Internet a wet cleaning of the apartment at a convenient time for you.

Clean and Care for Stainless Steel Cookware
It can be stated with complete confidence that in every kitchen there will be some object made of stainless steel. And this is not surprising. Such material is convenient, practical, durable and has an attractive appearance. Unfortunately, with improper use, and simply with time, even stainless steel loses its presentation. But cleaning such dishes can be a real test.
It is important to regularly clean the pots and pans and know how to clean particularly corrosive stains. Especially for you, we have found some useful tips, with the help of which stainless steel will preserve a pleasant look for much longer.
Why it is important to clean stainless steel dishes
Stainless steel is sufficiently resistant to heat, corrosion, stains. It contains chromium, which, when interacting with oxygen in the air, creates a protective film. Such protection prevents rust and hard-to-remove stains.
If the steel surface is covered with grease or dirt, this reaction may not occur. Consequently, steel becomes vulnerable and may be subject to corrosion or wear. Thus, the dishes lose all their useful properties and beautiful appearance.
General recommendations for cleaning dishes
- Stainless steel dishes should be cleaned regularly. Only proper care will extend its life.
- After each use, clean the dishes with detergent and water – this prevents the appearance of stains and dried food pieces.
- Do not use the dishwasher, and wash the stainless steel dishes with your hands, even if it is provided for in the operating instructions. Do this in warm water using a soft sponge and dishwashing detergent.
- After washing, wipe the dishes dry with a clean towel. Leaving the dishes to dry in the open air, you risk planting new spots.
- Do not use abrasives, hard sponges or metal scourers to clean stainless steel dishes, otherwise you will scratch the surface.
- The surface should be wiped with dotted, not circular movements. So it will be as clean and smooth as possible.
- Pay special attention to stains that may remain from the water. The reason for their appearance is not the water itself, but the minerals included in its composition. That is why it is better to wipe the dishes by hand.
- To give the dishes a glossy shine, use raw potatoes. It is necessary to cut it in half and wipe the pan with these slices.
- Cleaning stainless steel dishes with baking soda
The method of removing dirt on dishes using soda is considered one of the most simple and effective. And indeed, baking soda is always at hand. Especially good soda to remove greasy stains. How to clean pans or other dishes in this way? First of all, the dishes must be thoroughly washed. Then wipe dry and sprinkle copiously with soda on its surface. As a rule, half a glass of soda is enough for one item of kitchen utensils. Leave pots or pans for a couple of hours in this form. You can add a little water to the soda has acquired a pasty consistency. Then thoroughly wipe the dishes with a dry cloth or sponge.
- Cleaning with a special detergent for stainless steel dishes
Today, on the shelves of stores you can find many different tools that are designed specifically for washing dishes. In the case of stainless steel utensils it is strongly recommended to give preference to products with a mild composition. Such tools are designed specifically to remove difficult burned spots. Warm the pot in hot water and apply for 10-15 minutes. Then remove the dirt with a sponge, rinse dishes and wipe it dry.
In order to remove water stains and fingerprints from such dishes, you can use a glass cleaner. Spray the product evenly and wipe the surface of the dish with a microfiber cloth. After that, rinse with water and polish with a dry soft towel.
- Cleaning Stainless Steel Utensils with Vinegar or Lemon Juice
Vinegar is also used to clean stainless steel products. It should be applied to a soft sponge and wipe the dishes. Then you need to rinse the dishes with water and wipe dry. With the help of vinegar, water stains are also well cleaned. Soak the pan in vinegar and leave for 10-15 minutes, then wash with detergent as usual.

Use these 5 Tips for Vacuum Cleaning in a Perfect Manner
If you thought that vacuum cleaning was a simple affair, then you might be compelled to change your opinion if you were told that an astonishingly large proportion of individuals are unable to vacuum methodically. You know that your vacuuming is improper when dark lines are noticeable on the carpet’s edges; your feet pick up substantial amount of dirt when you move around the house barefoot, and your home smells musty despite the fact you moved in only a few years ago.
When it comes to home cleaning, vacuuming more often is an indispensable, especially if the floors are carpeted. Unfortunately, many people are not aware of how to use the vacuum cleaner in the right manner. You’ll be surprised to learn that quite a lot of people have been and continue to vacuum without even being conscious that they have been doing it improperly all along.
You might wonder as to how there is so much dirt or grime on the floor even after your vacuuming just two days ago. Vacuum cleaning simply does not mean pulling and pushing the cleaner all over the floor. There are some specific steps that you must follow in order to accomplish the task effectively.
1. Take it easy
When it comes to vacuum cleaning the floors, work at a pace that you’re convenient with. You’ve to understand and realize that simply setting the vacuum cleaner at a high speed with the aim of completing the job in a jiffy will not help matters, especially if your carpets or rugs are laden with dust. It is important for you to adjust the speed of the cleaner in a manner that you find comfortable.
Make sure you shift the vacuum cleaner to and fro slowly as you negotiate your way through the floor. Take care to see that the cleaner is picking up accumulated grime without leaving any trace in the area. At the same time, propel the arm carefully in those areas which you cannot reach by hand.
2. Stick to a routine and maintain it
Majority of users think about vacuuming only when the floors start appearing too dusty. You’d be making your home cleaning task unduly laborious if you wait until the carpets get overly dirty. The longer you wait, the greater is the amount of grime getting deposited on the floor covering.
Once the deposit deepens and hardens, you’ll have a hard time getting rid of the grime. There is every possibility of your being unable to clear away the embedded debris just through vacuuming. You may have to go for a deep cleanse in such a situation. You can easily avoid such an eventuality by deciding to vacuum more frequently.
3. Make sure that your vacuum cleaner is spic and span
It goes without saying that you’ll be able to make the most of your vacuum cleaner (use) if it’s in working order and perfectly clean. Ensure that the inner components are in a functional order. So that the appliance can work smoothly, circulation of air within it should happen without any let or hindrance.
Do not wait for the vacuum bag to fill up with dirt. Rather clear out the deposit in the canister when it is filled halfway and replace it back. Also, make sure you change the bag periodically. Additionally, make yourself familiar with cleaning the device, starting from the vacuum down to the base plate.
4. Pay more attention to areas that experience heavy footfall regularly
Generally, the living room, entrance, hallway, and the mudroom are areas in your home that witness the maximum footfall on any given day. So, you need to vacuum these areas with greater frequency in comparison to your bedroom or study room.
5. Opt for the vacuum cleaner that will cater to your home cleaning goals
Make sure that you are using the brand of vacuum cleaner that is ideal for the coverings on the floors. Also, ascertain that you have the right accessories.

Cleaning Your Home just as Professionals Do
More often than not, you are unable to carve out time from your busy schedule for house cleaning despite your willingness. So, it is not unusual for grime and dirt to accumulate all over the house making the entire place look untidy if you keep on dithering with cleansing the household. At times you might be tempted to seek professional help but when you work out and add up the expense heads, you’d be disheartened.
So is there a way out of the predicament-you want to keep your home spic and span without running up a huge bill or devoting more time than you can afford. Of course there is-you can go DIY. This blog offers you practical house cleaning tips that will go a long way in helping you to keep your home perfectly tidy and well organized without ever engaging a professional.
Cleaning the microwave that has been lying neglected
Make a solution of water and white vinegar in a 1:1 ration in a bowl. Put the bowl inside the chamber and microwave it until the solution starts boiling. Do not let the water simmer beyond the boiling point and make sure you throw a lemon slice in the bowl to prevent scalding from the steam fumes. Allow the solution to settle for about a minute or two and thereafter use a dry and clean microfiber cloth or paper towel for mopping the microwave.
The acetic acid in the white vinegar and the steam will break up the solidified food particles making it easy for you to wipe away the crumbles.
Cleaning shower curtains
The best way to machine clean your shower curtain is to put the same along with a couple of terry fabric towels. Throwing in the towels of terry fabric helps balance the load and keeps the strain off of the washing machine. That way, you achieve much better results.
Make sure you add the right amount of detergent-the same quantity you’d use for a mild wash. Add a dash of bleaching agent in case the towels are colored white as it helps in getting rid of mildew and molds sticking to the shower curtain.
Clean in a systematic manner
Majority of homeowners are in the habit of cleaning at a height of 5-6 feet usually up to the eye level. So, everything is neat and tidy up to a specific level but everything beyond that remains messy. If you get down to house cleaning on a large scale, then the most feasible way to start is from the ceiling.
That means you should begin with the fans and trusses on the ceiling. But before starting, cover all appliances and items at ground-level with sheeting to keep the dirt off of them. Clean at the ground level only after you’re done at the higher levels.
Stock up on supplies
How often has it happened that you were getting ready to mop the bedroom floor and you found that you didn’t have the cleaning solution? So make sure you have all the necessary house cleaning supplies ready before you take the broom stick and bucket in your hand.
Be regular with your maintenance
The bathroom and kitchen are two areas in your home that experience heavy footfall. Consequently, these two rooms also tend to pick up a lot of dirt and grime. Cleaning these areas on a regular basis, at least biweekly will save you the trouble of putting in a heavy effort if and when you cleanse after say two months.
Plan well in advance
Nobody will disagree that the house cleaning task is tedious for the most part. However, you can keep the tediousness at bay to a considerable extent if you plan well in advance. For instance, you can devote a particular weekend to cleaning the bathroom and the next towards deep cleansing the kitchen and so on. It does not have to be all in a day’s work.
